Hi everyone
You may have heard in the news that there have now been 10 confirmed cases of Legionnaires’ Disease in Australians who have visited Kuta, Bali since August 2010. The Indonesian Government has been advised of the Australian cases by the Australian Government and is working with the World Health Organisation to determine the source of the infections however the exact source of the outbreak is unknown at this time.
We are posting additional information about Legionnaires’ Disease here not because we want to scare you but feel everyone should be well informed.
Legionnaires’ Disease most often affects middle-aged and elderly people, particularly those who smoke or who have lung disease, diabetes, kidney disease or a weakened immune system.
Legionnaires’ Disease is a type of bacteria commonly transmitted by the inhalation of water droplets from contaminated warm water environments such as:
- air conditioning cooling towers in large buildings and evaporative air conditioners
- showers and warm water systems
- spa pools
- fountains.
Legionnaires’ Disease cannot be caught from other people or from animal contact.

Hi everyone
Happy New Year!
We have managed to find an alternative venue for our wedding in Bali on 10 July 2011. Unfortunately, the location of the venue is no longer in Seminyak. The new venue is in Jimbaran Bay (approximately 20-30 minutes drive from Seminyak).
For all details, please visit the respective links on this website. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or need more information.
Thanks

Hi all
We have just found out that our wedding venue (The Samaya) is undergoing extensive renovations next year which will coincide with our wedding. At the time of booking the venue, we were informed that the renovations would be completed well before our wedding but the renovations kept getting pushed back and are now not due to commence until early next year. Whilst the wedding venue has told us we can still have the wedding there, they are unable to guarantee what state the hotel will be in at the time of our wedding next year and have even recommended us to look into other venues. As such, Shane and I are now looking for an alternative wedding venue in Bali.
Unfortunately, we have since discovered that many of the other venues we were interested in have since been booked. We will continue looking however, in the meantime, if you haven't booked your plane tickets/accommodation, please hold off from doing so.
We will keep you informed in the next week as we find out the availability of other venues. For those of you who may have already booked accommodation in Seminyak/Legian (or are looking to book accommodation in this area anyway given that it has many restaurants/shops), we will look in to arranging transport for our guests from Seminyak/Legian to our wedding venue (once we have found a place) if necessary.
We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused, however these recent events have been beyond our control and if you can imagine, has also been quite upsetting for us.
